Welcome to Cupel
It’s the first week after spring equinox so it’s an appropriate time for new beginnings, fresh growth, and looking forward to the year ahead. I am therefore beyond excited, and a little nervous, to introduce my new venture Cupel to the world!
I took a 3-month break from October to December to focus on my voluntary work as Chair of the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust, rekindle my love of cooking, and finally make some progress on home improvement jobs, I also took the time to make some headspace and consider what to do next, where to add most value and effect positive change. I’m blessed to know wonderful people who are industry leaders and they kindly gave their time to listen to my postulations and offer their counsel (you know who you are – and a huge thank you to you all). The end result is Cupel.
So what is Cupel? In short we are a consultancy for the built environment with an emphasis on Design & Design Management, Digitisation, and Placemaking. We offer strategic advice grounded in practical experience gained over decades of delivering complex projects, and we offer delivery services which align with clients’ strategies. We re-link the results – the outcomes and outputs – to the project brief and concept, something that is all too often lost over a project’s lifetime.
We are an unashamedly boutique enterprise with focus on a personalised service tailored to each client’s needs and knowledge base. We take a digital-first approach without the baffling jargon and unnecessary software, using digital workflows and technologies where they improve productivity, accuracy, or cost (or any combination). We work across sectors and client types, offering ongoing support as a service or project-by-project delivery. We also work with like-minded organisations who share our values to provide complementary services and a broader knowledge base.
And what is a ‘cupel’? A cupel is a small porous bowl or crucible where unrefined metals are heated. Impurities are absorbed into the cupel leaving the precious metal – typically gold or silver – behind.
We’ll regularly update our socials and website with insight, ponderings, collaborations and perhaps a bit of fun now and again too, so please give Cupel a follow. Please feel free get in touch – via LinkedIn, website, email or phone.
If you like the look of the website I highly recommend Steve Lovell who looked after our branding and website – he took the brief and delivered completely on the mark.
